We Ranked Page One for “Buy Backlinks” Without Buying Any
Every SEO argues about how much links matter. Almost nobody publishes the Search Console record. So here is ours. We launched a brand new domain on 28 May 2026, published about 40 pages, spent nothing on ads, and built no links at all for the first ten weeks. It reached page one of Google for “buy backlinks”, a term people type when they are about to spend money. Google currently reports 22 external links to the whole site.
Disclosure first
The site in this study is our own link marketplace. This is not client work, and we are not a neutral party writing about someone else’s site. We have kept the domain out of the write-up, because naming it turns a data study into an advert and we would rather you argued with the numbers than with our motives.
We are publishing it anyway, because owning the property is the only reason this record can be complete. No client permission to negotiate, no columns redacted, no anomalous days quietly dropped. You get the whole Search Console export including the parts that are inconvenient for us.
The claim, stated so you can check it
A fresh domain. Not an expired registration, not a rebuild of something older. It went live on 28 May 2026 with roughly 40 pages of content and no paid promotion of any kind. Search Console verification and launch happened the same day, so every number below covers the site’s entire life.
Across the 93-day window from 28 May to 28 August it took 868 clicks from 23,904 impressions at a 3.63% click-through rate. Deliberate link building started on 17 August, which is day 78.
The site sells backlinks. It reached page one for the phrase “buy backlinks” without using any.
Where the links start
This is the chart that matters. Weekly clicks across the full window, with a marker on the day the first link went live.
The final bar covers 6 days, not 7. Shaded bars are weeks in which link building was running.
Cumulative milestones
| Milestone | Date | Day |
|---|---|---|
| First click | 31 May 2026 | 0 |
| 10 clicks | 10 Jun 2026 | 10 |
| 100 clicks | 1 Jul 2026 | 31 |
| 500 clicks | 7 Aug 2026 | 68 |
| First link built | 17 Aug 2026 | 78 |

The terms it ranks for
Six commercial variants sit on page one. None of them are brand searches.
| Query | Clicks | Impressions | CTR | Position |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| buy backlinks | 130 | 852 | 15.26% | 7.94 |
| buy backlinks india | 63 | 941 | 6.70% | 10.07 |
| backlink buy | 19 | 121 | 15.70% | 3.98 |
| buy backlink | 19 | 71 | 26.76% | 4.00 |
| backlinks buy online | 9 | 58 | 15.52% | 4.02 |
| buy backlinks online | 8 | 75 | 10.67% | 5.67 |
Brand searches are 21.3% of the clicks in the query export. The other 78.7% are people describing what they want to buy rather than looking for us by name. Search Console anonymises the long tail, so the query export accounts for 422 of the 868 total clicks.
The entire link profile
Not a sample. This is everything Google reports as an external link to the domain, as of 31 August 2026.
| Linking site | Links |
|---|---|
| trustpilot.com | 8 |
| gridinsoft.com | 6 |
| about.me | 2 |
| uicomet.com | 2 |
| goodfirms.co | 1 |
| Everything else | 3 |
| Total | 22 |
Review platforms and directory listings, mostly picked up without being requested. Internal links number 1,818 across roughly 40 pages, which is largely sitewide navigation rather than anything clever.
Ninety-one links were built between 17 and 31 August. Almost none of them appear in this report yet, and several are profile fields that may never count as links at all. We list the timing for completeness, not as an explanation. The rankings came first.
What this does not show
The limits are part of the result. Read these before quoting anything above.
It is an India result
847 of the 868 clicks, or 97.6%, came from India. The United States produced one click from 1,393 impressions at an average position of 33.1. Competition for “buy backlinks” varies enormously by market. Nothing here suggests the same outcome in the US or UK.
One day is excluded, deliberately
29 August recorded 9,797 impressions against a site average near 460 a day, and produced 8 clicks. Two queries supplied 9,314 of those impressions at positions 4.6 and 2.2, with two clicks between them, both variants of a competitor’s brand name. Ranking second to fifth and getting essentially no clicks is not how people behave, so we ended the window at 28 August. Including that day would have inflated impressions by 41% and moved average position from 24.9 to 19.3. Both would have flattered us.
One site is not a study
This is a single domain, in one niche, in one market. It shows the outcome is possible. It does not show it is typical, and anyone deriving a rule from one site is overreaching. That includes us.
This is not an argument that links do not matter
The honest reading is that 40 pages of content were enough here, not that links are worthless. A site with the same content and a genuine link profile would very likely have ranked higher, sooner, and in more countries. What the data rules out is the claim that a new domain cannot rank for a commercial term without links first.
How to check it
Every figure comes from Google Search Console exports for the property, pulled on 31 August 2026 with search type set to Web and the range set to the last 16 months, which for this property covers its whole history.
The daily series is the Chart.csv file from the performance export. Query figures come from Queries.csv in the same download. Link counts come from the Links report.
Withholding the domain does cost you something, and we should say so: you cannot independently confirm the rankings from the outside. What we can do instead is hand over the evidence. Ask us and we will send the raw Search Console exports, unedited, so you can redo every calculation on this page yourself.
